Making lemonade

2013 was unquestionably a very bitter lemon for our family. But you know what they say about lemons . . .

Sweet girl waiting for a family.
We will always be willing, and will do everything in our power to remain ready and able, to bring home the two little Russians with whom we left large pieces of our hearts. But as time has passed and our children already at home have gotten older, we have come to the conclusion that there is still room in our family for one more child. We are also painfully aware that there many, many children in desperate need of families throughout the world.

A few months before we traveled to Russia, friends made a similar trip to different Eastern European country to adopt a little boy who had spent his entire life in an orphanage. While she was there getting to know her new son, she also spent time with a little girl, also abandoned at birth and also available for international adoption. A sweet, gentle little soul who has waited far too long for a family of her own.We are smiling through our tears to announce that, God willing, this little girl will become our daughter just as soon as we redo the formidable mountain of paperwork, inspections, physicals, background checks and immigration procedures that is international adoption. (And it does all have to be redone. Different country, different process.) Thank you for your continued love and support as we commence with making some of sweetest lemonade you ever did see!
