It worked! We enjoyed our homemade maple syrup on french toast and it was yummy. Some of us were also pleased to note that it was a very pale gold in color meaning that it was Grade A syrup.
We cooked the uneaten syrup for a few more hours to make maple sugar and were equally pleased with the result.
As you may have guessed from the title of this blog we are relatively rural, but this is a project that can easily be done by anyone with a sugar maple tree or two. We really enjoyed it and think you might, too!
